Linguafun is a web based language teaching/learning resource that has been designed to assist both, the specialist and non-specialist teacher, to successfully implement Modern Foreign Languages at Key Stage2.
It uses Flash to deliver clear presentations and games directly to your Interactive Whiteboard and/ or your ICT suite.
Linguafun does not require any specialist software or hardware to run the activities on this site. Most computers that regularly access the Internet will probably have the relevant 'plug-ins' already installed.
The following information has been compiled for you and is for guidance only, should you require further information, please either talk to your ICT technician or contact us.
Our online activities use Flash version 8 or above. The grey banner directly above should tell you which version of Flash you currently have installed. If it recommends updating please click here and follow the onscreen instructions. The update is short and free. If the update does not begin, your computer may be blocking downloads/updates. In this case you will need to consult with your ICT technician.
If you cannot see the grey banner or any version information above, try updating (above).
As with any update to your machine you should consult with your ICT technician before starting.
Adobe Acrobat Reader (pdf)
To view or print any of the online resources you will need Adobe Acrobat. If your computer does not offer to install it for you, please click here.
Linguafun works best on a screen resolution of at least 800 x 600 pixels. We recommend 1024 x 768 pixels or higher.
You will need to have working sound cards to fully utilise the Linguafun website.
If you intend to work in an ICT suite, headphones are a good addition. A simple 3.5mm audio splitter, available from many electrical stores (we bought ours from Maplins, there are other retailers, of course), will enable pupils to work in pairs, each with their own set of headphones.
